I would still go to college. The only difference is with that much money to go to college I probably would stay in college longer and pursue a few extra degrees while I am there. I am looking for knowledge not money. The only problem is I need money to pursue knowledge.

I’ve been told that in China，having a pet，particularly a dog，is often considered to be a status（地位）symbol because it shows the family can afford to have an animal．It’s very different here．
In Canada it’s common to have pets．Many people have dogs；many others have cats，fish，birds or rabbits．Some keep what we call exotic（奇異的）pets，although keeping exotic animals is difficult，and because it can also be hard on the animals, the keeping of some exotic animals is not allowed by law．Some people do it anyway．
I like animals．As far back as I can remember my family has always had cats．Our cats．of course，wanted to go outside and it seemed reasonable to let them wander the neighborhood finding birds to run after，trees to climb and sunny places to sleep．As we always lived in a city，however，there was a problem．I remember more than once losing a cat that was killed by a car and it was heartbreaking．

Erica David lives in Pinedale,Wyoming，USA，where winter can bring temperatures of below 35 degrees Fahrenheit，howling winds，and a lot of snow．So it was just natural that she chose to study snow for her school science fair in the sixth grade．
Now a junior in high school，Erica is in her sixth year of snow experiments，and is well on her way to becoming a snow expert．She started with a basic question：Could snow fences be built to work better?
Snow fences are used to keep snowdrifts（雪堆）from covering areas like roads of train tracks，or to help build up snow where it can help with water shortages in spring when it melts（融化）．“Also，I wanted to protect my animals better from blowing snow，”says Erica，who raises goats，sheep，and pigs．
Before she could test fence designs，Erica had to figure out what would act like real snow in her experiments. “I tested flour, sugar, and salt before I settled on dishwasher powder , ”she explains.
Science fairs offer students the chance to test theories, present findings to judges, and meet other researchers. Erica’s many achievements include competing at the Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge for middle school students and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, where students from around the world present their science research.
But perhaps the best reward is that her research is already being put to good use. She has come up with an improved snow fence design, and this year she’s helping think out how to provide water supply to native plants, which have been killed off by drilling at nearby natural gasfields.

Frederic Chopin is one of the most romantic figures in musical biography. He was dreamy and tender(溫柔的). Chopin was born at a village near Warsaw, in Poland, on the 22^nd of February 1810.
In his early years Chopin showed himself very interested in music. He was only nine when he made his first public appearance. Chopin had been studying with Elsner, the director of Warsaw Conservatoire, for some time when his father thought it would be good for him to have a little tour before settling down to the practice of his profession. Thus a tour was arranged, Berlin was the first place visited where he heard a lot of music. And then came an important visit to “the beautiful musical Vienna.” There he was surrounded with requests to play in public. After Vienna, he visited Prague and Dresden, where he met more musical celebrities.
It was Paris where he decided to perfect his technique that Chopin finally settled in. The performance came off in 1832, and though the audience was small the artistic success was great. Prince Radziwill took him to a party at the Rothsehilds. He was asked to play, and he played so beautifully that he was drowned with praise. Thus was the young Pole（波蘭人）launched on his career of popularity in Paris.
Pauter says truly that Chopin never in his life wrote a bar of music that contained an inferior idea. And there was nothing vulgar (粗俗的) about himself. Nobody knew him better than George Sand. She says, “Gentle, sensitive, and very lovely, he united the charm of adolescence with sincerity of a more mature age.”

Sunblock

Wonder what your skin would like if you’d kept it protected from the sun? “Look at your butt (臀部),” says Dr. Steven Cohen, chief of the dermatology department at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. “It’s smooth, without wrinkle.”
Spot removers
To specifically target “sun spots” and even out skin color, dermatologists recommend products with hydroquinone (氫醌；對苯二酚), which gradually whitens the skin. Side effects include redness and irritation. Avoid these products if you’re pregnant because they can hurt a developing fetus (胎兒).
One more point: you’re never too late to protect your skin. You may feel like giving up when you see the consequences of teenage tans (dark color spot) in your mirror, but that’s no excuse for skipping daily sunblock. Sun damage is accumulative—and that means every day’s rays do a little more harm. So keep on doing it, and you may get a big surprise after ten or more years.
