B [2015 •廣西桂林市高一下學(xué)期期中考試]There have always been a lot of commonly believed but false ideas about being fat and doing exercise. Some people believe that they can't help putting on weight as they get older, while others hold that if they stop exercising, their muscles will turn into fat. There are some more myths :
I'll never lose weight―I come from a fat family.
Wrong! While we can't change the body type we are born with, we can't blame our genes for making us fat. There's plenty of evidence that fatness rftns in families, and the main reason is that they share the same habits of eating too much and exercising too little.
1 am fat because I burn calories slowly.
Wrong! Fatness is not caused by slow metabolism(新陳代謝).In fact, al?though fat people consume more energy than slim people, they also fail to realize how much they eat ! Keeping a diary can help you work out your daily foocl* intake more accurately.
Exercise is boring.
Wrong ! Anything will become boring if you do it repetitively. The key is to develop a balanced and varied programme that's fun as well as progressive. If you enjoy a Sunday walk, take a different route. If you do yoga, try a t'ai chi class. If you like exercise regularly, set yourself a distance or time challenge.
No pain, no gain.
Wrong! Exercise is not meant to hurt. Indeed, pain is your body telling you something's wrong, and continuing to exercise could lead to serious injury. You may experience mild discomfort as you begin to exercise regularly, but this is your body adapting to the positive changes in your lifestyle and the aches should disap?pear relatively quickly. If they don't, rest and seek medical advice.

A [2015 •江西省上饒地區(qū)高一下學(xué)期月考]
Cooking programmes and classes for children seem to positively influence children's food preferences and behaviour, according to a re?cent review. And, although the review didn't look at long-term effects of such programmes, the findings suggest that such programmes might help children develop long-lasting healthy habits.
This research comes at a time when childhood obesity rates have been rising rapidly. More than one third of adolescents in the United States were obese in 2012, according to the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This trend has been caused, at least in part, by a significant decrease in the amount of meals that people consume at home since the 1980s, according to background infor?mation in the study.
Cooking education programmes, such as Food Explorers, teach children about new healthy foods and how to prepare them. They also stress the importance of eating five kinds of fruit and vegetables every day. A volunteer parent explains a new food to the group, and the kids make something based on the lesson, such as fruit or vegetable salad. Depending on the programme? kids may be sent home with information about healthy foods to bring to their parents, the review explained.
The study team reviewed eight other studies that tested different types of cooking education programmes. Children in these classes were between 5 and 12 years old, according to the review. The goal of the study team was to learn more about developing an efficient programme to encourage healthy food choices that last a lifetime. The study found that it is particularly important to expose kids to healthy foods on a number of occasions. This makes them feel comfortable with the new foods, which helps them build healthy habits.
The study stressed the importance of getting parents involved in (參與)their children's eating habits. Parents who are unable to enroll their kids in a cooking class can achieve similar benefits by having their kids help them while they prepare meals at home. Children are more comfortable at home, which makes them more receptive to new foods because they will make the connection to a positive experience.

A. Childhood obesity is totally caused by eating habits.
B. Eating out frequently causes obesity.

A. Parents should let their kids cook independently at home.
B. Children who participate in cooking programmes are less likely to become obese.
C. A greater willingness to try new foods helps building healthy habits.
D. Children who take cooking courses are more likely to choose fruit and vege?tables as adults.
