Coming home from school, I was filled with excitement. But I was into stillness by what I saw. Mother, seated at the end of the sofa, , with the second-hand green typewriter on the table. She told me she couldn’t type fast and she was out of work. My shock at finding mother in tears was a perfect of how I understood the pressures on her. Sitting beside her on the sofa, I began very to understand. I could her pain and the tension (壓力) of the strong feeling that were interrupted by my arrival. Suddenly, something inside me . I reached out and put my arms around her. She broke then. She put her face my shoulder and sobbed. I held her and didn’t try to talk. I knew I was doing what I should, and that was enough. At that moment, mother’s back with feelings, I understood for the first time her being so easy to . She was still my mother, she was something : a person like me, capable of fear and and failure. I could feel her pain as she must have felt mine on a thousand occasions when I sought in her arms.
A week later mother took a job at half the salary the radio station . “It’s a job I can do, though.” She said . But the evening practice on the old green typewriter continued. I had a very feeling now when I heard her tapping away across the paper at night. I knew there was something more going on in there than a woman learning to .

Surfing: It’s Not Just for Boys Anymore
If you asked high school girls to name their favorite sports, most would probably say basketball or volleyball. I happen to be one of the few girls who would : surfing (沖浪運(yùn)動(dòng)). But isn’t that a boy thing? Some people , but most are certain.
I started surfing about five years ago and in love with the sport on the very first day. Riding that first was the best feeling I had ever experienced.
When I try to surfing with other things, I find it very difficult because, in my , there’s nothing like it. It involves (牽涉到) body, and soul. There's sand between my toes and cool, salt water all us. The feeling I get when I'm surfing across that , becoming one with the , is like I'm weightless.
The one thing I can from surfing and not any other sport is endless challenge (挑戰(zhàn)). You can never be the “best suffer” because the ocean uncountable waves that nobody can ever master. The variations (變化) of surfing styles are wonderful. Some suffers are free and flowing; are very aggressive (活躍有力的) and sharp. All of these things attract me to surfing and make it from any other sport.
I've to tell every girl I know to do something that people don't think girls can do. It's part of being human to advance to new , so shouldn’t it be expected that girls should step up and start pushing the limits of things boys and men to dominate (主宰)?
There’re women side by side with the President of our country, so why not side by side with the boys the football team or out in the water surfing? Give girls a chance to , and they will.

How often do you let other people’s nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, impolite waiter, rude boss, or an insensitive employee your day?
One day I was in a taxi and we headed the airport. We were driving in the right lane suddenly a black car drove out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, slide sideways, and at the very last moment our car stopped and narrowly the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car looked around and started at us.
My taxi driver just and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really . So I asked, “Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!”This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call “The Law of the Garbage Truck”.
He that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of , full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage up, they need a place to dump (倒) it and sometimes they’ll dump it on . Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.
Believe me. You’ll be more . Don’t take their garbage and it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets, Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with . The mark of your success is how quickly you can refocus on what’s in your life. Roy Baumeister, a psychology researcher from Florida State University, found in his extensive research that you bad things more often than good things in your life. You store the bad memories rather easily, and you them more frequently.
