A little boy invited his mother to attend his school’s first teacher-parent meeting. To the little boy’s disappointment,she said she would go. Although she was a beautiful woman, there was a scar(疤痕)that   19  nearly the right side of her face. The boy never wanted to   20  why or how she got the scar.
At the meeting, the people were impressed by the kindness and natural beauty of his mother in spite of the scar, but the little boy was still  21 and hid himself from everyone,  22   a conversation between his mother and the teacher.

The mother answered,“When my son was a baby, he was in a room that caught fire. Everyone was   24  afraid to go in because the fire was   25   ，so I went in. As I was running toward his bed, I saw a piece of wood coming down and I placed myself over him trying to protect him. At this point, the little boy came out running toward his mother with tears in his eyes. He held her mother in his arms and   29   a great sense of the sacrifice(犧牲)that his mother had made for him. He held her hand tightly for the   30  of the day.

A passenger (乘客) told an air hostess (空姐) that he needed a cup of water to take medicine when the plane just took off. She told him that she would bring him the   16  soon.
Twenty minutes   17 , when the passenger’s ring for service sounded, the air hostess realized it at once. She was kept so busy that she   18  to bring him the water. Therefore, the passenger was held up (延遲) to take his medicine. She hurried over to him with a cup of water, but he   19  it.

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had   16      a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom, and knowing his father could well   17  it, he told him that was all he wanted.  

On the morning of his graduation day his father called him into his own study and told him how   18  he was to have such a fine son. The moment he was about to leave for the hospital, he saw on the desk the   23  new book , just as he had left it one year ago. He opened it and began to turn the pages. Suddenly, a car key   24      from an envelope（信封）in the book. It had a tag（標(biāo)簽）with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the sports car.
