Your accent might be different from everybody else's.Your clothes may also be very different from those around you.Sometimes it can be really difficult being different, especially when compared to the other kids at school. But some people at your school will want to get to know you because your differences seem really cool.Other people, though, might try to give you a hard time.

Some of the people who may try to tease (戲弄)you might do so because of stereotypes.Stereotypes are simplified ideas, often exaggerated (夸大) or distorted in a negative way, that one group of people holds about another. An example of a stereotype would be everyone with curly hair is lazy.Like this example, stereotypes are often wrong, and they can be hurtful.

If someone bothers you, walk away-don't give the person the satisfaction of seeing that his or her comments bother you.If you can't shake off the comments, talk about it with good friends, siblings, or parents. The people who love you and know that you're a great person can often help you understand that the bully (仗勢欺人者) has no idea what he or she is talking about. It also helps to find people at school to hang out with who are cool enough not to care what the bully says.

As much as you would hate to be boxed into a certain type, try and get away from doing the same to others. These characterizations (界定法) are just as unfair as the ones people might use to describe you.And beliefs in these can get in the way of making some good friends.

Sometimes you think your teacher hates you? You're not the only one.Teachers and students sometimes have personality clashes, just like any two people who don't get along. After all, teachers aren't perfect.

However, most of the time, there are lots of reasons why you and your teacher might not be getting along. So try to figure out if your teacher really does dislike you ,or if something else is going on.Here are some questions to ask yourself:

。狪s your teacher's anger aimed at you personally, or at something specific you’ve been doing?

All teachers have something that they strongly dislike.Maybe your teacher hates it when people whisper in class. If you try hard not to do these things, the situation might get better.

*Are you the only person being treated badly, or is your teacher being rough on the whole classroom?

Ask your classmates if they've been having trouble with the teacher too.If they say yes, perhaps your teacher is having problems outside of school, or is new and feels overwhelmed(壓力過大的).

。狝re you working up to your ability?

You and the kid sitting beside you both got a C on the last test, and your teacher told you that you could do better, but didn't say anything to her! Isn't this totally unfair? Well, teachers often grade students by different standards, especially if they feel that someone isn't doing the work they're capable of doing. It's their way of motivating a student to try a little harder.

*Are you more sensitive than most students?

Try to find out if you are just extra sensitive to criticism. If the other student aren't as sensitive, they will not be bothered even though the teacher treated them exactly the same way. There's nothing wrong with being sensitive, but if you react to criticism differently than most kids, this could be a factor in why you think your teacher doesn't like you.
