“Do not get yourself hurt playing in games.”This is what Yao Ming told a nine-year-old American reporter in America last month.

The basketball star is using his own experiences to tell fans that injuries(傷害)can be really annoying(煩惱).Since Yao Ming came to play in the NBA in 2002, he has got injured 12 times. And his injuries have been causing problems for him and his team from time to time.Yao has missed about 20 games just(A)________his injured left foot.

“My foot did give me a hard time,”said Yao.He is getting better from a foot injury he got on April 10.If his left foot doesn't get better, Yao may not be able to(B)take part in the Men's World Basketball Tournament(錦標(biāo)賽)in August.

While there is no sure way for Yao not to get injured, he can reduce his chances. So can you.Always keep safety in mind before any game and you will be less likely to get injury.Wear sports shoes and protective pads(護(hù)墊)for your knees and wrists(手腕).It's not a good idea to jump onto the field and start playing.First run slowly for a short while to get ready to play.(C)This helps with your blood flow and muscle temperature. When your muscles are ready to go, you are much less likely to get hurt in games.

Try to get a clear idea of the game's rules. If you know how the game works, fewer injuries will happen. You and the other players know what to expect from each other. But(D)最重要的是, remember you play for fun and your health, not just to win.So don't risk(冒險(xiǎn))your safety just to hold, push or trip players on the other team.
