After finals,I was ready to move out.It wasn't too hard for me,but for a lot of my friends,it was a big event. After packing my suitcase and helping my friends move,it was time to say goodbye.I had reached the end of my first year in the university!
A friend from Chinese Taipei who is studying in Washington D.C.came to visit,so my brother and I took him sightseeing. But these were not this month's highlights. The high point was coming back home,a moment I'd been expecting since the day I left.
I arrived home early on the morning of May 15th.When I saw my parents,I gave them a big hug and kiss.Being at home with my parents, standing on this land, and feeling the humid and hot air,I knew I was home. The first thing I did was to go to Mei Mei for a big breakfast. It was so much better than the school cafeteria(自助餐廳)! Mei& Mei was just a start. There are so many foods I have to eat and so many friends I want to see.
The hot air is burning my face and the sweat(汗) is evaporating from my skin.I love this feeling. This is where I belong.

My name is Jenny. Last week I became a tourist (游客) guide for a day. Two friends, Mr. and Mrs. Moore arrived for a short holiday from Australia. It was their first visit to this part of the world. As my parents had to attend a cousin's wedding (堂兄的婚禮) , they asked me to take our two visitors around Singapore.
Early in the morning I took them round the island in a taxi. They enjoyed the trip down Nicoll Drive to Changi Beach. Later in the morning was stopped at the Tiger Balm Gardens, or Haw Par Villa as it is commonly called. They found the Gardens very interesting. I told them the history of the place and the Chinese legends (傳奇) behind the figures of stone. The sun was hot and we soon became very thirsty. I introduced our Australian friends to fresh coconut (新鮮椰子) water. They were delighted (高興) .
For lunch we went back to the city. We had “tim-sum” at the Neptune Theatre Restaurant. They liked the food and said that it was the biggest restaurant they had seen. In the afternoon we paid a short visit to the National Museum. Both Mr. and Mrs. Moore were interested to find out more about Singapore and its history. They bought some books on Singapore to bring back with them. From the museum I took them to the Van Kleef Aquarium. Some of the sea creatures(生物) frightened Mrs. Moore a little although they were safely contained in tanks (桶) . After that our two visitors went back to their hotel to rest.
By the time I reached home, I was quite exhausted (疲倦).
That evening my parents took the Moores to a wedding dinner. They told my parents what a good tourist guide I had been.

On my first day of wish schoo1.I saw a boy from my class walking back home after schoo1.His name was David. He was carrying his books. As 1 was walking。I saw a group of kids running toward him.knocking all his books out of his arms. And then they ran away.David fell down and his glasses went flying. He looked up and I saw sadness in his eyes.1 helped him to look for his glasses and said.“The kids with bad manners should be punished.”There was a big smile that showed real gratitude(感激)on his face.
From then on。we became friends. The more I got to know David, the more I liked him.Over
the next four years,we always studied, played together and had a happy time.
On graduation(畢業(yè))day,I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So I said,“Hey,
you will be the best!” Then he began,“Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you succeed through those difficult years. Our parents, also teachers, but mostly our friends.Being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.I’U tell you a story…”I just looked at the handsome popular boy in amazement as he told the story of the first day we met.
Everyone Was surprised to hear all about his hardest moment.I saw his Mom and Dad looking at me and smiling that same thankful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its deep meaning.Never underestimate(低估)the power of your actions. With one small action, you can change a person’s life.As you can see,“Friends are angels(天使)to make us rise when our wings(翅膀) have problems flying.”
