【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,判斷下列句子的正誤 。
A

In 1933 an unknown American called Clarence Nash went to see the filmmaker Walt Disney. He had an unusual voice and he wanted to work on Disney's cartoon (動(dòng)畫片) film for children. When Walt Disney heard Nash's voice, he said “Stop! That's our duck!”
The duck was the now famous Donald Duck, who first appeared in 1934 in the film The Wise Little Hen. Donald lived in an old houseboat (水上住家) and wore his sailor jacket and hat. Later that year, he became a star after an eight-minute Mickey Mouse film. The cinema audience liked him because he was lazy and greedy (貪婪的), and because he lost his temper (發(fā)脾氣) very quickly. And they loved his voice when he became angry with Mickey's eight nephews (侄子). Soon Donald was more popular than Mickey Mouse himself, probably because he wasn't a goody-goody like Mickey.
In the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, Donald and his friends Mickey, Goofy and Pluto made hundreds of Disney cartoons. He also made educational films about the place of the USA in the world, and safety in the home. Then in 1966, Donald Duck and his voice disappeared — there were no more new cartoons.
Clarence Nash died in February, 1985.But today's children can still see the old cartoons on television and hear that famous voice.

What are magic words? Words like ‘thank you’, ‘please’ and ‘sorry’ can work wonders

in our daily life. These polite expressions are used every day in American—among

strangers, between friends or with family. People with good manners always communicate with others well by using these magic words.

What should you do when you receive a gift for your birthday? You’d better sit down

and write a thank-you letter. The words thank you’ are very important and used very often. We say them when someone hands us a letter, passes us a book, offers us a bottle of water, or lends us an umbrella.

“請”是另一個(gè)重要的詞,但是很多人忘記去使用它. It is not polite to ask someone for help without saying ‘please’. We are supposed to use it when we ask for something, too. It may be a book, a pen, or more milk. It may be in the classroom, at home, or at the bus stop. We can use ‘please’ to make a. request.

We should also learn to say sorry.如果我們已經(jīng)傷害了某個(gè)人的感情,我們應(yīng)該說“對不起”.When we have told a lie and regret it, the same word should be used. Sometimes

we have forgotten something or broken a promise, so we need to explain with the word as a beginning. ‘Sorry’ is such a word that can make people forget wrongs

‘Thank you! Please! Sorry!’—these words are simple but useful. Man said them long ago. We use them now. So will our kid.

【題目】More and more people think it necessary to study in an English-speaking country and it didn’t take long at all for me to decide to come and study in UK.

I have been used to school life since I came here two months ago, and I am starting to enjoy most of my time in here. School starts at 9 o’clock every morning, and every Monday, Wednesday and Friday we have long days, in which we have 9 lessons and school finishes at 4 o’clock. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday we have short days, in which we have only 6 lessons and finish at 1 o’clock. After lessons, we have 2 hours of activity time, when you can choose from a number of activities, including many sports, such as rugby(英式橄欖球) , football, basketball and tennis.

As a boarder(寄宿者), the quality of food is something I consider very important, and Merchiston has not let me down. The school kitchens are run by a professional company, and the quality of food is excellent, and they are always trying to make the diet healthy. One of the obvious advantages of being a boarder is that we can have breakfast in the school, which means we don’t have to pull ourselves out of bed as early as the day pupils!

【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,判斷正(T) 誤(F) 。
B
English habits
I have an English friend. One day I came to see him. He invited me to dinner. At table Englishmen had their good manners. To accept a dish was by saying, “Yes, please.”To decline (謝絕) it was by saying, “No, thanks .”When eating they made little noise.
After dinner he went upstairs to change his clothes. But he did not come back. After a while I went upstairs and found him i n bed asleep. That was his habit.
Habits are very strong. If a man by habit says”Thank you”and”please”,it is easy for him to be polite. If a man smokes a great deal, it becomes very difficult for him to stop. A language is also made of habits. So we should form good habits of reading and speaking English.
(1)In England, the usual way to take a dish is by saying”Yes,please”. And to refuse it by saying”No,thanks”.
(2)It is bad manners to make much noise when eating.
(3)When we say”Habits are very strong”we mean it is very difficult to change a habit.
(4)Different languages have different habits.
(5)It is very easy to form good manners at table.

【題目】 We can see them every day, on every street corner, on every construction site (建筑工地) in cities. They work day and night in the terrible working conditions and weather. They build the roads, the theaters, the cinemas, and the supermarkets. They’re China’s migrant workers.

More than 140 million workers have left their homes to look for job in cities. They hope to be rich, but they realize they have many problems making money. And one of the problems is the pride and discrimination (歧視) from the people in cities.

When night falls, I can see the sad faces of the migrant workers everywhere. You can see them playing cards along the streets. Many are living far away from where they are.

I can sometimes feel their pain, knowing exactly what it feels like to live so far away from home in a city where I walk a different walk and talk a different talk.

Yes, they dress differently and speak differently. Different habits, but they work hard. The people in cities regard them as outsiders, and most governments refuse to give them medical care and public schooling for their children.
