【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,選擇最佳答案。
As December comes to an end, you think about the new year and all the ways you want to improve your life. But as you start to write down your hopes for the new year, you think about the last year. You excitedly write down all the changes you are going to make, but by the end of January those ideas get lost in your busy life.
Here's a suggestion: Forget the too big, hard to achieve goals and just think about the small ones. “We often think that we have to do everything in big steps, even though it's so hard for us to reach it, said Robert Maurer, who recently wrote the book One Small Step Can Change Your Life. “What we try to do is to begin with such a small step that we can't find any excuse not to do it.”
“Kaizen”, a Japanese word, is used to mean to change behavior and attitudes. During World WarⅡ, American factory managers were able to increase productivity by trying small, continuous improvements instead of sudden changes. After the war, the idea was brought to a rebuilding Japan. It made Japan develop fast. The Japanese called it “Kaizen”, which means “improvement”.
Maurer studied the idea and did some experiments with it. “Kaizen” could possibly help people succeed in doing everything.

【題目】 Do you know what a shouzhang is? It is a diary decorated with tapes, stickers, drawing and other things. It’s a part of Japanese popular culture and it also becomes popular in China.
In May, twin sisters from Zhejiang became “stars” online because of their interesting shouzhang. They are Lin Ting and Mao Yue — two 14-year old eighth-graders from Wenhui Middle School in Hangzhou. They record(記錄) things about food, travel, pets, school life, and other interesting things in their lives in their shouzhang.
The twins started to make their shouzhang about two years ago. “Nothing will be greater than to look back on these beautiful memories(回憶) when we get old,” Lin said.
They stay true to themselves — putting both small happiness and little frustrations into their diaries. For example, they often write funny stories about their two pet dogs Dabao and Gege. When Lin has too much homework to do, she writes about how she feels. “It makes me feel better,” Lin said.
They also write about their favourite foods and stars. Mao collected pictures of ice cream, coffee and her hero Zhang Yixing, and stuck them in her shouzhang. They always bring their shouzhang with them while travelling.
Both of them are good at drawing. And they also have a big box of tapes and stickers! So it’s a piece of cake for them to make their shouzhang beautiful.

It is reported that some developed countries have shipped broken parts of computers to China. Last month Hong Kong officers found 131,000 kilograms of broken computers, TVs and phones sent from Japan.
Things like these are called electronic waste, or e-waste. Dealing with them is not an easy job. Every time an old computer breaks down, it needs to be dealt with safely. What is worse, at present, broken computer parts are usually buried. It may be hundreds of years before they are really g one in the earth.
Many places in China are polluted by e-waste. Guiyu in Guangdong Province is one of them. This town is named as "the e-waste capital of the world". It has to deal with 1.5 million kilograms of e-waste each year, from which it makes 75 million yuan. But it comes at a cost. Many of the poisons in e-waste find their way into the environment. An environmental group has found the air, the earth and the rivers in Guiyu badly polluted.
Luckily, the Chinese government wants to change the situation. This year, China passed a new environmental protection law. Computer companies like Lenovo and Dell will be asked to take back their old computers. Hopefully, the problem with e-waste will be solved in the near future.
