On January 5th, students in our school visited Robot World, which we saw a great diversity of robot. I was amazing to find those robots could do a great number of things just like real people, included playing chess, playing the piano and drawing pictures. What’s more, the robots were in different kinds and shapes, which made us enjoyable. In addition, that excited me most is the show given by a group of robots. They danced just as if they were dancers on the stage. By visiting Robot World, I have learned a lot of about robots, especial about their functions and shapes. The great human wisdom is so powerful that it make us feel more comfortable live in the world.

【6】is改為was
【7】a lot of about去掉of

【1】which改為where.
此處由a great diversity of修飾,表示各種各樣的機器人,名詞要用復(fù)數(shù),故robot改為robots.
【4】included改為including. 句中a great number of things和后面列舉的幾項是主動關(guān)系,指“包括”,included“被包括”,故included改為including.
【5】that改為what.
【6】is改為was.
【7】a lot of about去掉of. a lot of修飾名詞,此處指我學(xué)到了很多,修飾動詞用a lot,故a lot of about去掉of.
【9】make改為makes.
【10】live前加to.

Personally, I do not really have interest to dogs, and sometimes I do hate some dog owners. They can be so annoyed. They talk about their dogs as if they are actually their little babies. It was an extremely hot day. My younger brother Walt and I had decided to go swimming in a deep swimming hole across Mr. Blickez’s farm and through some woods, because it would be the only way to cool ourselves down.
The only problem with our plan was that this farm was guarded by a huge mean (兇暴的) Hereford bull (公牛). Mr. Blickez had told us that Elsie was the meanest bull in town, maybe even in the county and we believed in him. But the hotter it got, the more we thought there was something fishy about what he said. For one thing, we remembered Mr. Blickez liked telling tall tales; for another, Elsie seemed like a strange name for a bull. Finally, I talked Mom into asking permission for us to walk through the farm, and Mr. Blickez agreed.
On our way across the farm, we stopped at the fence to admire the swimming hole. The sun shone brightly across the cool waters. We couldn’t wait to get there. Suddenly, Walt shouted loudly. Elsie had run to him and was licking (舔) his back. I immediately hid under the fence. However, when I looked up, I saw that Elsie wasn’t a big mean bull at all. She was just a friendly young cow, and she was going to keep licking my brother’s back as long as he stood still.
When we discovered the truth, we were so happy. We then ran to the swimming hole and jumped in. The water was just as wonderful as we had dreamed. After that day, we had many good days and we often visited our secret swimming hole guarded by the so-called “big mean bull”. .

Only two countries in the advanced world provide no guarantee for paid leave from work to care for a newborn child. Last spring one of the two,Australia, gave up the bad distinction by setting up paid family leave starting in 2011.I wasn’t surprised when this didn’t make the news here in the United States—we’re now the only wealthy country without such a policy.
The United States does have one explicit family policy, the Family and Medical Leave Act, passed in 1993.It entitles workers to as much as 12 weeks’ unpaid leave for care of a newborn or dealing with a family medical problem. Despite the modesty of the benefit, the Chamber of Commerce and other business groups fought it bitterly, describing it as “government-run personnel management” and a “dangerous precedent(先例).” In fact, every step of the way, as (usually) Democratic leaders have tried to introduce work-family balance measures into the law, business groups have been strongly opposed.
As Yale law professor Anne Alstott argues, justifying parental support depends on defining (定義) the family as a social good that, in some sense, society must pay for. Parents are burdened in many ways in their lives: there is “no exit” when it comes to children. Society expects—and needs—parents to provide their children with continuity of care. And society expects—and needs—parents to persist in their roles for 18 years, or longer if needed.
【1】What do we learn about paid family leave according to Paragraph 1?
A.It came as a surprise when Australia adopted the policy.
B.Setting up this policy made Australia less influential.
C.It has now become a hot topic in the United States.
D.No such policy is applied in the United States.
【2】What makes it hard to take work-family balance measures in the States?
A.The incompetence of the Democrats.
B.The opposition from business circles.
C.The lack of a precedent in American history.
D.The existing Family and Medical Leave Act.
【3】What is Professor Anne Alstott’s argument for parental support?
A.Children need continuous care.
B.Good parenting benefits society.
C.The cost of raising children has been growing.
D.The U.S.should keep up with other developed countries.
【4】Why is the author against classifying parenting as a personal choice?
A.Parenting is regarded as a moral duty.
B.Parenting relies largely on social support.
C.Parenting produces huge moral benefits.
D.Parenting is basically a social responsibility.
