1. 師生間沖突時(shí)有發(fā)生,并舉例說明;

2. 造成沖突的原因;

3. 解決的方法。

【答案】Dear Editor,

It is very common that conflicts between teachers and students often happen. For example, a girl in our class didnt hand in her homework yesterday and was criticized by our English teacher. She felt it was unfair to be treated like that and talked back to the teacher, which made the teacher very angry. Later, it turned out that the girl didnt feel well the day before yesterday so she couldnt finish her homework.

So in most cases, conflicts between people come from misunderstanding. If the girl had realized that the teacher acted so just for her sake, or the teacher had first asked the girl why she didnt finish her homework, the conflict would have been avoided. So teachers and students should communicate more and understand each other.

In my opinion, putting yourself in others shoes is the key to avoiding conflicts.

Yours,

Li Hua

【題目】語法填空。

Two weeks before Christmas, two little girls were walking down the street1they saw old Harry, who was on his knees pulling weeds around a tree.

He wore a pair of worn gloves. His fingers were sticking out2the ends, blue from the cold. They stopped to talk to him.

Harry told them he3(get) the yard in shape as a Christmas gift for his mother, who had died several years before. “My mother was all I had. She loved her yard and trees, so I do this for her every Christmas.”

His words touched the girls and soon they _4_ (join) him, pulling weeds. When they finished, Harry pressed a coin into each of their hands. “I wish I could pay you more, but that's all I've got right now,” he said.

The girls had often passed his house, and they remembered that it had always been5poor condition. No decorations to add cheeriness were anywhere in sight.

As they walked on, the coin in one little girl's hand seemed to burn a hole of6(guilty). The next day she called her friends7they agreed to put their coins in a jar marked “Harry's Christmas Gift”. Then they began to seek out small jobs to earn more. Every coin they earned went into the jar.

Finally, they had enough8(buy) new gloves. On Christmas Eve they were on Harry's doorstep singing carols. They presented him with the gloves. With9(tremble) hands, he held the gloves to his face and wept. No doubt he once again felt _10_ love of others as the girls reached out to him.

Attraction of the Minions

When it comes to film, people usually favor good over evil, focus on the hero and ignore the supporting characters. _【1】 __

Originally comedic background characters in the film Despicable Me(卑鄙的我), these yellow pill-shaped nuts, have totally stolen the show and turned into a popular figure. This summer the characters debuted(首演) in their own self-titled movie in theaters abroad, having the second biggest opening weekend of all time for a cartoon film according to USA Today.

Recently, McDonald’s has been including Minion toys with kids’ meals in some areas, causing loyal fans to flock to the restaurant to collect them all. __2__ The movie’s huge popularity even surprised its writers. “We never knew the Minions were going to be so popular. It just became a force of nature,” the film’s co-writer Cinco Paul told the Los Angeles Times.

_3 __For many, the appeal is obviously their cuteness. Their simple nature can easily surpass cultures and age groups. Even children can draw them. Thousands of examples of fan-made Minion art from fingernails to Halloween clothes are visible on global social media platforms.

But there’s more to the phenomenon than just cuteness. US entertainment website Hit Fix explains that their way of communicating makes the creatures influential as well. __4 __ But it seems everyone can understand them through their exaggerated(夸張的) movements and expressions. More importantly, their childlike mannerisms is a brand of humor that wins hearts. “Clumsy, foolish Minions are recognized as the ultimate β personalities,” wrote Peter Debruge of US entertainment magazine Variety. They desire nothing more than to serve their most despicable master. __5__ "Perhaps we love Minions because they remind us of ourselves," Huffington Post associate Web editor Sara Boboltz wrote, "or an evil version of ourselves."

A. So what makes the banana-loving Minions a big hit?

B. Besides, their childlike manner entertains fans more.

C. And this evil characteristic arouses sympathy among humans.

D. Related video games, toys and other goods are sweeping the world.

E. Minions is a 2015 American 3D computer-animated family comedy film.

It was almost five years since I began to learn English. I’m glad to say I’m getting along well with it. However, first I came across a lot of difficulties. I couldn’t pronounce English sounds good, nor could I remember the words I had learned. In class, I couldn’t understand that the teacher had said. I almost lost my heart when the teacher said to me, “Keeping on and you will do well.” I was greatly encouraging. I started working hard at English. With the help by my teacher and classmates, I made some progresses. I’m very pleased, but I will work harder.

Have you ever felt sick to your stomach during a test? Have you ever been so worried about something that you ended up with a terrible headache?

If so, then you know what it’s like to feel stress. You’ve probably heard people say, Wow, I’m really stressed out. 【1】 But children have lots of things going on in their lives that can cause stress, too.

What is stress?

Stress is what you feel when you are worried or uncomfortable about something. This worry in your mind can make your body feel bad. You may feel angry, frustrated, scared, or afraid --- which can give you a stomachache or a headache.

What causes stress?

Plenty of things can cause stress in a child’s life. 2 Good or normal stress might show up when you’re called on in class or when you have to give a report. Have you ever gotten butterflies in your stomach or sweaty hands? Those can be signs of good stress. 3 For example, you may do a better job on your book report if the anxiety inspires you to prepare well before you get up and read it to the class.

But bad stress can happen if the stressful feelings keep going over time. You may not feel well if your parents are fighting, if a family member is sick, if you’re having problems at school, or if you’re going through anything else that makes you upset every day. 4

Once you recognize that you’re feeling stressed, there are several things you can do. You can try talking about what’s bothering you with an adult you trust, like a parent or teacher. 5 An adult may have ideas about how to solve whatever is worrying you or making you uncomfortable.

A. This kind of stress can help you to get things done.

B. Maybe you hear adults say those kinds of things all the time.

C. Bring up what’s been on your mind and how it makes you feel.

D. Everyone experiences stress at times --- adults, teens, and even kids.

E. There are ways to reduce stress and manage the stress that’s unavoidable.

F. That kind of stress isn’t going to help you, and it can actually make you sick.

G. The trick is to remember that some types of stress are good and others are bad.

A simple life means getting rid of many of the things you do so that you can spend more time with people you love and do the things you love. 【1】 It’s often a journey of two steps forward and one backward.

Evaluate your time. 2 What things do you do from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep? Make a list, and evaluate whether they’re in line with your priorities. If not, remove them and focus on what’s important. Redesign your day.

Limit your communications. Our lives these days are filled with a vast flow of communications: email, cell phones, paper mail, Twitter, forums, and more. 3 Instead, set a limit on your communications: only deal with emails at certain times of the day. Limit phone calls to certain times too. It is the same with other communications. Set a schedule and stick to it.

Try living without a car. OK, this isn’t something I’ve done, but many others have. 4 Walk, bike, or take public transportation. It reduces expenses and gives you time to think. A car is also very complicated, needing not only car payments, but insurance, maintenance, repairs, gas and more.

5 If you rid your home of stuff, you might find you don’t need so much space. I’m not saying you should live on a boat (although I know some people who happily do so), but if you can be comfortable in a smaller home, it will not only be less expensive, but easier to maintain, and greatly simplify your life.

A. Consider a smaller home.

B. Have a place for everything.

C. How do you spend your day?

D. It’s something I would do if I didn’t have kids.

E. They can take up your whole day if you let them be.

F. However, getting to simplicity isn’t always a simple process.

G. Most people don’t know what “enough” is, and thus they keep buying more.
