3Football has become one of the best ways for people to communicate ever since it was invented.

4Having lived in China for years, he still cannot speak Chinese well.

5I’ve lost track of what is happening.

根據(jù)提示可知,本句為一般現(xiàn)在時;“最好不做某事”had better not do sth.,“太多”too much/many,“油炸食品”fried food,再結(jié)合其他漢語提示,故本句可譯為:You'd better not eat too much sugar and fried foods.

無關(guān)”have nothing to do with,再結(jié)合其他漢語提示,故本句可譯為:Beauty is an attitude. It has nothing to do with age.

的方式”the way to do sth.,“……之一”one of,后面加名詞復(fù)數(shù)。足球(football)和發(fā)明(invent)之間是被動關(guān)系用一般過去時的被動語態(tài),再結(jié)合其他漢語提示,本句可譯為:Football has become one of the best ways for people to communicate ever since it was invented.

Having lived in China for years, he still cannot speak Chinese well.

根據(jù)漢語提示可知,主句用現(xiàn)在完成式,從句用現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時;“不了解”lose track of,“現(xiàn)在正在發(fā)生的事情”what is happening作為賓語從句,再結(jié)合其他漢語提示,故本句可譯為:I’ve lost track of what is happening.

現(xiàn)在完成時表過去的動作對現(xiàn)在造成的影響,其結(jié)構(gòu)為have/has done,常見的時間標(biāo)志詞有:already, yet, since, for, so far, up to/till now, during/in/ over + past/ last + 段時間

例如:

So far great changes have taken place in China.

During the past 3 years I have made great progress in English.

When I was twelve, I went to a soccer field for the first time. I found hard to drag myself away from it. But all I could do were to make a paper one instead, so I didn’t have enough money to buy a football. Every day on my way home, I couldn’t help kick whatever on the road could be kicked.

Several weeks late, I felt I was on top of the world. While I got home,a real black and white ball was waiting for me on my desk, in which was my birthday present from my parents. I was very wild with joy that I didn’t know what to say. I simply rushed out with a ball and playing with other kids until I was completely tired out.

The Buy Nothing Movement

Social media, magazines and shop windows bombard(猛轟)people daily with things to buy, and British consumers are buying more clothes than ever before. The average person spends more than 1,000 on new clothes a year, which might not sound like much. 1 A lot of consumer spending is by means of credit cards. British people currently owe about 670 per adult to credit card companies. Also, people are spending money they haven't earned to buy things they don't need. Britain throws away 300,000 tons of clothing a year, most of which goes into landfill(垃圾填 埋地)sites.

2But charity shops can't sell all those unwanted clothes. A lot of clothes that charities can't sell are sent abroad, causing even more economic and environmental problems.

3The idea originated in Canada in the early 1990s and then moved to the US. On Buy Nothing Day people organise various types of protests and cut up their credit cards. Throughout the year, Buy Nothing groups organise the exchange and repair of items they already own.

The trend has now reached influencers on social media who now encourage their viewers not to buy anything at all for periods as long as a year. Two friends in Canada spent a year working towards buying only food. For the first three months they learned how to live without buying electrical goods, clothes or things for the house. For the next stage, they gave up services, for example, haircuts, eating out or buying petrol for their cars. 4

The changes they made meant two fewer cars on the roads, a reduction in plastic and paper packaging and a positive impact on the environment from all the energy saved. 5But even if you can't manage a full year without going shopping, you can participate in the anti-consumerist movement by refusing to buy things you don't need.

A.In one year, they'd saved $55,000.

B.If everyone followed a similar plan, the results would be impressive.

C.Online shopping means it is easy for customers to buy without thinking.

D.Second-hand clothes are often of too poor quality to recycle in charity shops.

E.But that figure hides two far more worrying trends for society and for the environment

F.However, a different trend arises in opposition to consumerism—the ' buy nothing' trend.

G.People might not realise the problems because they donate their unwanted clothes to charities.
