Dear David,

How are you these days? I'm writing to tell you something about an activity named Exchange Your Books for Coffee, which is held by a coffee house. I sincerely invite you to go with me. I hope you don't have any plans for this weekend.

In the coffee house, people can take a book which they have read and exchange it for a cup of coffee. This activity is thought highly of by people because they can not only drink delicious coffee, but also share books with others instead of throwing them away.

Would you like to go to the coffee house with me this weekend? If so, please take a book with you.

Yours,

Li Hua

I’m writing to tell you something about an activity named Exchange Your Books for Coffee, which is held by a coffee house. I sincerely invite you to go with me. I hope you don’t have any plans for this weekend.

In the coffee house, people can take a book which they have read and exchange it for a cup of coffee. 接著用一個(gè)被動(dòng)語態(tài)is thought highly of by people及由not only…but also…引導(dǎo)的并列句:because they can not only drink delicious coffee, but also share books with others instead of throwing them away.

Would you like to go to the coffee house with me this weekend? If so, please take a book with you。

如sincerely invite you to go with, think highly of,not only drink delicious coffee, but also …share books with others instead of throwing them away, would like to go to the coffee house with me等,這些給文章加分不少。

Summer is the season to dive into new activities and relax. And right now is the time to make sure that you're ready for the great outdoors, the holiday planning and travel, and the bathing suit beach days.
If you want to lose weight before summer, concentrate on dropping no more than a pound or two a week. And when you trouble yourself, sooner or later you're going to gain it back. Operate on a 500-calorie-a-day deficit (虧損). So if you cut 500 calories a day for seven days straight, you'll lose a pound a week right there.
Operating at a decrease of 500 calories a day should involve both eating less and moving more. For example, you could consume 300 fewer calories and bum 200 extra per day.
Include both healthy eating and exercise in your weight-loss plan, and break the 500-calorie goal into small groups to make it more reachable.
To cut 100 calories: Have vegetable pizza instead of pepperoni Use our Nutritional Needs Calculator to determine how many daily calories you should consume in order to lose, gain, or maintain your healthy goal weight. Once you've reached your goal, recalculate your nutritional needs for keeping extra weight off all summer long.
To burn 100 calories: spend 15 minutes biking. Spend 20 minutes gardening. Keep on exercising at least 30 minutes daily a week. Reading food labels and counting calories or writing down what and when you eat can give you more control as well.
A. Here are some simple ways to get there.
B. Walk or run one mile.
C. A pound is 3,500 calories.
D. It is okay to have some snacks between your meals.
E. You should always make sure you get a lot of sleep.
F. Anything more than that usually means you're troubling yourself.
G. Eat a chicken breast without the skin.

My decision to travel around China lay merely with my curiosity about the place. Before coming here, China seemed alien to me ----a place that expected to be hugely dissimilar from my own British culture.
After travelling from Beijing up to Xi'an, I wanted to challenge myself by choosing a smaller town----Xiahe in Gansu Province. I arrived in Lanzhou at around 5 am, but there were no buses to Xiahe. I managed to spot a policeman and attempted to explain my destination to him in simple English, praying that he would understand. I wasn't sure that he did but I just followed him anyway as I had no choice. He took me on a bus and I didn't know where I was going. Luckily, I met a student who explained to me in English that the policeman was taking me to another bus station where I could take a bus to Xiahe. During this conversation a third man said he was also a policeman and would help me buy tickets. But as he was not in uniform, I was a little doubtful. The uniformed policeman told me it was OK to go with the third man, so I got off the bus with the so-called policeman who at this point, disappeared and I was left in the middle of nowhere. I stood panicking. Around one minute later a police car came and stopped right by me. It was the un-uniformed policeman. I got into the car and he dropped me directly at the bus station, and helped me buy the ticket.
This is one of many experiences that I have had in China. I realized that however different this culture was, there was one thing that would always stand out—kindness. In the west we seem to lack the foundation of trust, yet in China it seems that there will always be someone to answer your questions and lead you the right way.

It’s OK to have ups and downs in your feeling, but having low self-esteem isn’t OK. Feeling like you’re not important can make you sad and can keep you from trying new things.1 Having strong self-esteem is also a very big part of growing up; as you get older and face tough decisions-especially under peer pressure—the more self-esteem you have, the better.

If you think you might have low self-esteem, try talking to an adult you trust about it.2 In addition, here are a few things that you can try to promote your self-esteem:

Remember that your body is your own, no matter what shapes, size, or color it is. If you are worried about your weight or size, you can check with your doctor to make sure that things are OK.3 You should accept and love these things because they are part of you. Remind yourself of things about your body that are cool, like, “My legs are strong and I can skate really well.”4 The critical voice inside you will soon lose its power.

Praise yourself every day. Don’t just say, “I’m so great.” Be specific about something good about yourself, like, “I was a good friend to Jill today” or “I did better on that test than I thought I would.”5 Even if you’ve got room for improvement, realizing that you’re valuable and important helps your self-esteem shine.

A. Remember that there are things about yourself you can’t change.

B. It can keep you from making friends or hurt how to do at school.

C. It is important to know you’re worth a lot.

D. By focusing on the good things and your great qualities, you learn to love and accept yourself.

E. When you hear negative comments in your head, mentally tell yourself to stop.

F. Before you go to bed every night list three things in your day that really made you happy.

G. He or she may be able to help you come up with some good ideas for finding your self-esteem.
