As Apple fans paid attention to every detail, Twitter user, Pratiik Rege, joked that the Apple watch was set at 10:09 in all images because 10:10 was "just too mainstream." He actually may have been .
You may not have but the default setting (默認(rèn)設(shè)置) in advertisements for many new watches is 10:10. Many well-known brands, Rolex and Tag Heuer, set their watches to this time for their advertisements. Could Apple have set their watch at 10:09 to they are ahead of the others? Perhaps, a quick look at other watch advertisements suggests Apple is not the first to the 10 past 10 time. That's because many companies show their watches at this time for artistic reasons. It makes therefore to adjust it by just a few minutes this standard time according to what particular brands think their watch best.
However, it is thought that around 10 past 10 shows the watch at the best .
If the logo is underneath the 12, this time also has the advantage of "framing" the brand name between the two hands. It's also a symmetrical (對(duì)稱的) time, making it to the eye. Often manufacturers photograph the watch with the second hand in a position emphasises this proportionality (均衡). Another favorite time with clock vendors has been 20 past 8, because of its symmetry. However, 10 past 10 is to be a more "positive" time by brand experts, as it looks as if the of the watch is smiling.
It's likely that Apple decided to set its time at 10:09 to itself within watch-making tradition. It may just be a minute in time, but 10:09 is further that Apple is taking its new watch very seriously, This is not being to as a "smart watch"; this is a watch that both wearable tech and the watch industry should take .

Having spring around makes you feel different after such a long winter journey. The power of sunshine brings us a lot of comfort, optimism, self-confidence and of course a smile. Imagine how great it will be if we are so positive all year round!
Living like this is possible if you really think about it. In order to exist in such a state of happiness, we must have sunshine radiating from within ourselves, shining from our hearts, minds and souls. Actually, that’s your choice, and if you think that way then your own life will reflect that attitude of yours!
In order to make “sunshine” or rather, “l(fā)ight” part of our being, it is so important that you watch your thoughts, your words and your actions so that you will accept what you really feel you’d like to create in your own life. Watch your thoughts and really become aware of how many negative thoughts pass through your mind about yourself and other people around you. Watch to see how often you gossip (說(shuō)閑話)about other people, which is actually often attached with feelings of jealousy (妒忌)and insecurity about yourself.
You are also supposed to take a close look at your “intention”. How many of you do something for another person without expecting to receive something in return? It might not even have to be a material or physical thing you expect; expecting to be recognized for what you have done is enough to create conditions on Having spring around makes you feel differentyour intention. Think about it!
Putting all of these together, it seems that most of us are creating monsters inside us just by simply talking, thinking and not putting our heart out with the right intention towards helping someone else. If you take all your negative attitudes in one hand and measure your need to feel “sunshine“ in the other, you will see how both these elements really contradict each other.
Be brave and break your patterns and your habits this spring, and by doing so,you will allow the true sunshine to take place by radiating out from your heart and into your life and the lives of the people around you!
1.You can have sunshine shining from your inside .
A. by measuring what you need
B. by helping someone else
C. by watching what you think, say and do
D. by changing your intention
2. According to the writer, you don t feel secure about yourself when you .
A. gossip about other people
B. take a close look at your intention
C. expect to be recognized for what you’ve done
D. become aware of your negative thoughts
3.What can be inferred from the passage?
A. Expecting something in return for our help isn’t the right intention.
B. Breaking our patterns is the most important to get true sunshine.
C. If we don-t intend to help others, we create monsters inside us.
D. Negative attitudes have little to do with happiness.
4.The passage is written mainly to _ .
A. stress the importance of the positive life style
B. analyze the intentions and thoughts in our mind
C. offer advice on having sunshine from our inside
D. warn us about the bad effects of negative attitudes

A sleepover (在外過(guò)夜的聚會(huì)) at Legoland Discovery Centre, at the Trafford Centre in Manchester, may sound like the perfect place to host your child's next birthday party — but it will set parents back more than £1,000.
All rides — Kingdom Quest Laser Ride, Merlin's Apprentice and Lego City Forest Pursuit — are open during the evening and supervision (監(jiān)管) on these rides is provided at all times. The Lego Studios 4D Cinema is also open and guests have exclusive use of the Lego construction play area until 10:00 pm, which means you will have a good time and don't need to share any facilities with other groups.
But at £35 a head, with a minimum guest list of 30, it's unlikely to be something the average parent could afford, reports Manchester Evening News.
A Legoland spokesman said: "The sleepover package is aimed at groups such as boys between eight and ten, girls between six and eight and youth groups, however it is open to everyone within the terms of the offer. " There is a birthday room to use, and in regard to food, snack boxes can be purchased for the additional cost of £4.50. Guests are also welcome to bring along their own food and drinks, and there are storage facilities where they can be kept.
"Also we do have daytime party packages available, which are £15 per child midweek and £18 per child at the weekend. But these packages have a policy of a minimum of nine and a maximum of 21 people, due to room capacity. "
The spokesman continued, "Included in the price for these parties is the birthday cake, and children's meal of sandwiches, crisps, fruit juice, fruit and Haribo sweets. All attending adults also get a free hot drink and the birthday child gets a free group photograph."
Legoland says that the pricing for the sleepover package is based on overall operating costs of opening the centre exclusively for the group.

Dear Ms. Wang,
I am writing to inform you of some arrangements about my composition course and Latin course next year.
I’ve decided to re-establish the 5-paragraph essay as the goal for the composition course. I interviewed some of my former students and they all agreed that being able to write critically and continuouslywas important to them.
So next academic year, Term 1 will be like always: sentences to paragraphing. And Term 2 will work toward the 5-paragraph essay. The final 3 weeks of Term 2 will be reserved tointroduce writing for TOEFL and CEE. By that time, if the students have done their job correctly, then they should be able to write quite well.
As for the Latin course, I will post notices around campus next week so that the students will understand what’s on offer before I actually introduce the course. A number of students already emailed me about the course.
I am sure you don’t understand what a big deal our opening this program at our school is. People around the world are interested in what we plan to do. There are many rewards available to the students who succeed in the course. Please share what I have said with the administration. I want them to understand the importance of this course. The reason I have contacted these colleagues (actually Oxford contacted me) isthatI have confidence in our students and in myself. I know that when those professors meet our students and hear them speaking and reading Latin, they are going to be amazed. It will open all sorts of doors for students that they never even thought of knocking on.
Well, that’s it for now. I’ll see you soon.
Yours,
Edward Johnson

When her five daughters were young, Helene An always told them that there was strength in unity (團(tuán)結(jié)). To show this, she pick up one chopstick, taking it as one person. Then she easily broke it into two pieces. Next, she tied several chopsticks together, taking them as a family. She showed the girls it was hard to break the tied chopsticks.
