9.Space TouristsSaturday 28April,2001:Dennis Tito was setting off on his holiday."So what?"you might think.Well,Mr.Tito's journey was certainly unusual!So was the transport he chose,and the price of his trip.
The 60-year-old millionaire from New York was sitting on board a Russian spaceship.He was on a journey to the International Space Station.It might have been a routine  trip for the two Russian astronauts who were travelling with him,but for him it was certainly no ordinary journey.Dennis Tito was the first tourist ever in space,and he had paid $20million to go there.As the spacecraft left the earth's atmosphere,Tito drank a glass of fruit juice to celebrate and looked down at the earth's blue-green surface.Two minutes later,he was sick.Luckily it was only a minor problem. He soon recovered, and from then on enjoyed a smooth  journey.When he arrived at the space station,there was a big smile on his face."A great trip!"he commented."I love space."
For a long time space travel was something for heroes.But if some people are right,all this is going to change.One of them is Charles Miller,Director of a company called ProSpace.They are investing1 large amounts of money in space travel."Tito's adventure was just the beginning.We're going to see exciting new things in the next twenty years!"Charles Miller says.
Companies like ProSpace want space and space travel to belong to the public, not just governments. There are other future plans,like cruises2 through space from one side of the world to the other.Maybe we will be able to leave from New York at nine o'clock in the morning,and arrive in Tokyo an hour later!Such a schedule would allow the business traveller to return to New York on the same day,and still have eight hours for a meeting!How's that for speed?
1.invest:to spend money in order to make something succeed

13.The location of the family computer may turn into a hot debate as your children get older.Whether you have one computer in the house or five,you should consider the following things as you make a final decision.
Safety
The first consideration should be the safety of your children.There is a certain amount of danger if you allow your children to have a computer with Internet access(進(jìn)入) in their rooms with no parental direction.They are much more likely to share improper information and chat with strangers if they know that no one will be watching.
This does not mean that you cannot allow your children to have a computer in their rooms.Consider allowing a computer without Internet access,or with limited access.This is especially useful for teens who use the computer for creative projects,playing video games and listening to music.Keep in mind,however,that it is likely that your kids are more skilled at computers than you are and may remove any blocks you have in place.
Computer Use
The way your family computers are used will play a large role in determining where they should be located.A machine used only for homework will need to be in a quiet location where there is low traffic.One used for chatting online can be in the room where most of the family spend their time.If Mom and Dad use a computer for work,those needs will also have to be considered.
Space
Space must also be considered in computer placement.The computer will need electricity,plenty of desk space and a spot away from the bright light of windows.You will not want it located in a room where your kids may be noisy.
31.The text is meant forB.
A.teachers
B.parents
C.students
D.children
32.Which of the following might be a danger to children?A
A.Chatting with strangers.
B.Doing their homework.
C.Playing video games.
D.Listening to music.
33.What might be the best place for family computers used by students?C
A.Beside a window.
B.Near the door.
C.At the corner.
D.In front of a TV set.
34.Which is the first to be considered when placing a computer at home?A
A.Safety.
B.Computer use.
C.Space.
D.Comfort.
35.What can we infer from the text?D
A.A child should not be allowed to use a computer.
B.A child should not be allowed to get online.
