Are you cooperative? Are you a good team member? If so, the future may hold more for you than you think.
【小題1】  That' s happening in those areas of business and data processing where one person and a computer can replace a team of workers.
But, elsewhere, teamwork is very much alive. High technology has led to a new type of teamwork in a number of fields, including advertising, scientific research, engineering design, architecture and ocean exploration.
Through computer networking, scientists, engineers and technicians at different locations —often thousands of miles apart —can work on the same project at once. 【小題2】
Examples— An engineering team can now design and try out a robot system ?a new manufacturing process or an entire factory —before it is built. 【小題3】  A medical team can simulate (模擬) a dangerous operation before performing it on a patient.
Of course, computer-assisted team effort doesn't end with investigation and simulation. 【小題4】  "CAD-CAM —computer-aided design and manufacture—is breaking down barriers between traditional design and manufacturing functions," explains Dr. Prakash Rao, an engineering manager at General Electric." Interdisciplinary (跨學(xué)科的) teams and engineers follow a product from concept to production. Everything is interconnected like a network. "
Sometimes, a computer-aided effort can extend beyond production. A team that produces robots may use them to explore space and ocean depths. 【小題5】

A.They can exchange ideas, try out different designs and test their results.
B.In the future, teamwork will be highlighted by the introduction of new technology.
C.An architectural team can do the same with a building or a bridge.
D.It ends in the products which are extensions of the traditional design.
E. It now usually continues into actual design, manufacturing and testing.
F. High technology, some predicted, would make teamwork a thing of the past.
G. For high-technology teamwork, the future seems limitless.

A.Suggestions on having interviews
B.Be yourself
C.Listen before talking
D.Use your eyes and smile
E.Focus your energy
F.Qualities of good communication
【小題1】_________
Good communication is vital in modern society. We know that much of the communication is unspoken. Consciously or unconsciously, we show our true feelings with our eyes, faces, bodies and attitudes. Your good qualities can make good communication. The personal qualities include physical appearance, energy, rate of speech, pitch and tone of voice, gestures, expressiveness of eyes, and the ability to hold the interest of others. What should we do so that our communication will be effective? Here are my suggestions.
【小題2】_________
Firstly, the trick is to be consistently you, at your best. The most effective people never change character from one situation to another. They’re the same whether they’re having a conversation with their close friends, addressing their garden club or being interviewed for a job. They communicate with their whole being.
【小題3】_________
Secondly, whether you’re talking to one person or one hundred, always remember to look at them. Don’t break eye contact while talking. As you enter a room, move your eyes comfortably, then look directly at those in the room and smile. This shows clearly that you are at ease. Smiling is important. The best type of smile and eye contact is gentle and comfortable, not forced.
【小題4】_________
You should also absorb other people before showing yourself. You can’t learn anything when you talk. When you attend a meeting, a party or an interview, don’t immediately start throwing your opinions. Stop for a second. Absorb what’s going on. What’s the mood of the others – are they down, up, happy, expectant? Are they eager to learn from you, or do they show resistance? If you can sense what’s happening with others, you will be better able to reach them. So, listen before you talk.
【小題5】_________
How do you get your energy up? Before the meeting, collect your thoughts about the goal of the meeting – yours and the other’s. Once you go through the doorway, no longer think about yourself. Focus on the person you are meeting to find out what he is interested in. Properly collected energy comes across when we sincerely believe something. When you speak with energy, you are involved with your audience and your message. You create an air of certainty. The audience may disagree with you, but they can’t question your belief.

【小題1】Painkillers in a tablet can make your headache go away. Antibiotic cream(抗生膏)from a tube can prevent your cuts from becoming infected. But can medicine come packaged in chicken eggs?
A team of scientists from Scotland says yes. They've engineered special chickens that lay eggs with disease -treating drugs inside.
【小題2】Animals make thousands of proteins—they’re the main ingredient in skin, hair, milk, and meat. Since animals can make proteins easily, they’re good candidates for making protein drugs.
Researchers have already made cows, sheep, and goats that pump out protein drugs in their milk. But chickens are not expensive to take care of; what’s more, they need less room, and grow faster than these other animals. “【小題3】”says Simon Lillico of the Roslin Institute near Edinburgh, Scotland.
Lillico and a team of researchers changed chickens’ DNA—the code that tells cells how to make proteins so that the birds’ cells made two protein drugs. 【小題4】
The scientists altered the chickens’ DNA so that the birds made these drugs only in their egg whites (蛋清). This protects the chickens’ bodies from the drugs’ possible harmful effects and makes it easy for scientists to collect the drugs.
These special chickens can pass on their drug-laying abilities to their chicks. 【小題5】The scientists need to improve these chickens before they roost (棲息) in drug companies’ labs. The birds don’t make enough drugs to treat people yet. But once the researchers perfect their technique, you might eventually take your medicine sunny-side up.

A.Medicine comes in lots of different uses.
B.Those qualities could make chickens a better choice to become living drug factories.
C.So far, the Scottish researchers have bred five generations of drug—producing birds.
D.Some chickens are found having the ability of treating diseases.
E. One drug can treat skin cancer, and the other treats a nerve disease called multiple sclerosis(硬化).
F. These drugs are made of molecules called proteins.
G. Medicine comes in lots of different packages.

Trust has been considered as the basis of any relationship, including friendship. No relationship can last long with a lack of trust. Not many of your friends will have real faith in you as you would like to believe.【小題1】 Sometimes, it takes years, even a complete lifetime, to trust someone. However, how do we know if our friends have faith in us?
【小題2】With whom will you share things that you don’t want everyone to know? It would be with a close friend, whom you trust as much as you trust yourself. While a few of your friends may be fiercely protective of their privacy and may not tell their secrets to anyone, those who do, surely find you trustworthy and reliable.
Whom do you look up to for advice when you need it the most? It has to be either your parents or your friends. 【小題3】This is a shining example of trust. You only seek advice from people you hold in high regard and find dependable. The friends who trust you will never forget to include you in the important decisions of their life.
Arguments and heated discussions are a part of every relationship, and this is also true for friendship. 【小題4】While some people find it difficult to forgive and forget, your friends will never have problems moving on. It is because they trust you and believe that you will never cause any pain to them on purpose.
There are times in life when you find yourself a lonely soldier. 【小題5】Your friends will never let you down and will strongly stand for you when you need encouragement. You can determine that they trust you and believe in your beliefs, if they side with you when you need them the most.

A.People can be extraordinarily jealous sometimes
B.You know they will never pass on a wrong suggestion
C.In fact, winning trust is, by far, the most challenging aspect of relationships
D.Two people cannot have identical reactions to a situation and different opinions do exist.
E. No matter how close you are to your friends, you cannot take that comfort level for granted.
F. If your friends share their secrets, there’s a good possibility that they have much faith in you.
G. However, people who are fortunate to have been blessed with true friends are never alone in any battle.
