1.I was once an alcoholic.Years passed.With a lot of therapy and love,I left high school and all of its(36)A
behind me.I have moved on and though I am financially poor,I find myself (37)Bwith the blessings and love.Recently,I helped a young friend with a bake sale to(38)Ca middle school student who is battling brain cancer.
When Mr.X came through the door,I was not(39)B Instead,I kind of hoped he didn't recognize me.(40)A,what kinds of memories of me would have stuck with him after all these years?What if he still thinks of me as that(41)Cperson that I once was?(42)A,he didn't recognize me.He simply spoke kindly to others,donated generously,and went on his way as usual.
Then,a few days ago,he once again came to a benefit to generously donate money to someone(43)D.This time,I felt moved to introduce myself.We started to(44)C,and before we knew it,we had caught up on 30 years of our lives!That was(45)BI knew what I had to do.I told him that though he didn't recognize it,he was very influential in my(46)Dand becoming a much kinder,giving person.His quiet"hellos",the shy smile and nod of his head,his kind and(47)Cbehavior,are one of the biggest memories I carry with me from my high school years.When I have gotten angry with the way the world is today,I've(48)Cmyself of people like Mr.X.They do(49)A!
