Aquatica

As one of the city’s most unique water parks, Aquatica is a wonderful world of water rides and white sand beaches. And if you enjoy a side of fear with your water-park fun, be sure to check out Ihu’s Breakaway Falls. This towering slide is not for the weak heart. The less adventurous will still find plenty of fun playing from one big wave pool to another or flowing down the lazy river through a world of unusual fish. You can also watch dolphins underwater. Warbird Adventures

World Read Aloud Day is celebrated each year on the first Wednesday of March. High school is a time that we may meet many good teachers. When I was in Senior One, I met a teacher who name is John. He was very old, and taught us chemistry well. He tried his best to make her classes lively. He usually made good preparation for the lessons and was strict with us, too. Whenever we made mistakes in our homework, he would ask us to correcting them. I was used to be poor in chemistry. He often helps me with my studies very patient. A recent survey of the top 500 entrepreneurs (企業(yè)家) in the UK found that 70% felt that their efforts were not appreciated by the British public. Britain is hostile (敵意的) to success, they said. Scientists at Warwich University in the UK recently tested this idea. Two thirds of the people tested agreed to do this.

There are thousands of bystanders(看熱鬧的人)and millions of television viewers. The Parade is as traditional as turkey. The year 2016 was the 90th year of Macy’s parade. It featured 15 huge balloons in the shape of cartoon and pop culture characters, 1,200 dancers and cheerleaders, 900 clowns(小丑),10 marching bands and nearly 9,000 workers, almost all of whom were volunteers.

The floats(彩車)and balloons have been getting larger ,more colorful and more surprising since Macy’s immigrant (移民的) workers organized the first Thanksgiving Day Parade.

In 2016, school children were invited to the Macy’s parade studios(畫室) outside New York City, for a first look at several just completed floats.

Bella was excited to be there. “I think it’s great because I get to see all of these floats before anyone else does in the parade,” said Bella.

John Piper is the president of Macy’s Studio. He said his work was fun all the time. “It’s a lot of work. All year long, the artists at Macy’s Studio all build these floats. We create them from scratch(涂抹). I have the finest carpenters(木匠), metal workers, painters all cooperating(合作) together,” said Piper.

The floats were supposed to advertise for commercial sponsors(贊助商) for the start of the Christmas season. But Amy Kule, the event producer said, “ And the floats are used to keep the beauty and the majesty(莊嚴)of the parade. A Thanksgiving parade is always about giving back and entertaining(娛樂). But most importantly, it’s about leaving it for the next generation.”

There was a time when my sister was very sad. She used to be a happy girl but was one of the top student in her class. But she lost her left leg in an accident when she is in high school.
