Snowboarding(滑板滑雪) became a Winter Olympic event in 1998 but many people still don’t think it’s a “real” sport. I asked ten of my friends about this and eight of them said it shouldn’t be an Olympic event. Snowboarders must be skilful and strong, just like other athletes(運(yùn)動(dòng)員), and they train just as hard. So, why do people have this opinion?
Well, I think there are a few reasons. First of all, snowboarders believe that having fun is part of the sport. Maybe people think they’re enjoying themselves too much. I guess they feel that “real” sports should look like hard work. Secondly, snowboarders believe it’s of importance to show their personal style. They like to be dressed in modern clothes and often have interesting haircuts. In some people’s eyes, a well-trained athlete just doesn’t wear a funny hat or a nose-ring. Thirdly, it’s a new sport and many people haven’t tried it yet. This might make them think it’s easy, when, in fact, it’s not. Snowboarding is just as difficult, if not more difficult, than skiing.
Whatever the reasons, I think it’s time we accept that having fun doesn’t mean you’re lazy and that someone with blue hair can be a champion(冠軍).

Would you please listen? It’s a complaint we’ve all heard (though perhaps not listened to). The price paid for not listening can be high: from making a mess of a task to broken relationships. “Frustrated, devalued, and disrespected—that’s how people feel when they’re ‘heard’ but not ‘listened to’,” says Jennie Grau, president of communications training and coaching firm Taliaferro Grau Associates. Yet focusing attention and understanding—the qualities that make physically hearing different from actually listening—can be hard to develop.
Learn to truly understand others, and you’ll improve your personal and professional skill sets alike. Business is all about relationships, and being a better listener helps you establish more positive relationships, says Rockhurst University communications professor Laura Janusik.
The first step is to limit anything that draws your attention away. Give up multi-tasking, and focus on what the speaker’s saying. If the moment simply doesn’t allow you to pay full attention, set up an alternative time when you will be able to concentrate.
Next, stop interrupting. Always want to jump in before the other person finishes speaking? Control yourself like this: Press your fingers firmly, count to five, and re-evaluate whether it’s time to talk. Be aware of the subjects or words that influence your emotions—both positive and negative—and calm down before responding.
Finally, listen between the lines. If you hear only the words without paying attention to the speaker’s tone of voice, facial expression, and body language, you risk missing hidden meanings or important signals. Confirm you’ve “gotten” the message. Transform what others said into a few words of your own.
And when it’s your turn to speak, know you’ve provided a model for how you hope your words will be received.
63. What’s the difference between hearing and listening according to the passage? (No more than 14 words)

64. What does the author mean by saying “l(fā)isten between the lines” in Paragraph 5? (No more than 8 words)

65. What’s the best title for the passage? (No more than 8 words)

A Love Oriented “Family”
“Jia” or “Family” in English, is one of the most widely read novels by Chinese literature giant Ba Jin. It has been again adapted into a TV series, with its main plot telling the love story between the young heroes, according to a report by the Beijing Times. “Family” is among Ba Jin’s most acclaimed(受稱贊的)novels and is one of his three semi-autobiographical novels known as the “Torrent” trilogy(三部曲), composed of “Family”, “Spring” and “Autumn”. Written between 1931 and 1940 in pre-revolutionary China, the novel attacked the traditional Chinese family structure and depicted the struggles and tragedies, love and hatred of the young generation in a story of family decline. It has attracted extensive readers for its anti-feudal(封建的) thoughts and unique artistic charm, winning an important position in contemporary Chinese literature.
In China, family is closely related to country, hence the appearance of the very country of five thousand years' civilization. The ideal of ancient people, namely, “self-cultivation, regulating the family, managing the nation, and establishing peace all over the world”, fully reflects the close relation between the family and the country.
“Our version is not as depressing as the original story. It is modern and cater to a younger audience,” said the director Wang Jun at the press release in Beijing. Starring family faces including Huang Lei, Huang Yi and Li Xiaoran, the drama focuses on the complicated relationships between the characters and throws light on the resistance against feudal(封建的) restrictions. “We have to act as teenage boys, it is quite a challenge,” said Huang Lei, an experienced actor who is 36 years old. Huang Yi said “Family” is a good chance for her to switch style because she has to play a virtuous wife whose life ends in tragedy.
81. What are the three novels known as the “Torrent” trilogy by Ba Jin?
_______________________________________________________________________________
82. According to paragraph three, we know the original story is ____________.
_______________________________________________________________________________
83. The underlined word “depicted” probably means ____________.

84. What’s the TV series “Family” about?

Traditionally, customers may consider more about what they buy the product for. However, the image of product and the consuming circumstance have become the key points to attract customer awareness and stimulate(刺激) their buying needs. Frequently, customers buy goods just because they are cute, lovely and unique. With a less emphasis on functional utilities, the experience and imaginative space are placed into an increasingly important role. The image of product is emphasized, as well as the communication between products and consumers. “Customer  behavior, which appears to be focused and directed at the object and at pleasure, in fact responds to quite different objectives: displaced expression of desire, and the production of a code of social values through the use of differential signs”(Baudrillard) . The reason for image-oriented customer behavior is probably that customers’ lifestyle has been continuously virtualized by paying much attention to “Virtual Reality”. The evidences can be traced from computer games and Hollywood movies, in which customers’ preference for fleeing reality is perfectly matched.
This change requires us to take efforts to improve product image by integrating(綜合) style, color, taste, shape and material, and communicate with customers creatively, imaginatively and innovatively, and enable them to enjoy the distinctive experience image brings. “[A] need is not a need for a particular object as much as it is a ‘need’ for difference” (Baudrillard). The typical example is Apple Computer’s IMAC, which has strong visual impact and outstanding dynamics. By this way, customer relationship can be set up through image, and brand can be treated as living that can transform people. Other examples commonly used are Disney Fairyland and Las Vegas, where new experience and imagination are fully demonstrated. In sum, consumption is negotiation, a never-ending conversation held in the languages of advertising, packaging, branding, fashion, and entertainment.
