Over the years I've been teaching children about a simple 【1】___________ powerful concept --- the ant philosophy (哲學(xué)).I think everybody should study ants.

They have an2___________(amaze) four-part philosophy, and here is the first part: ants never quit. That's a good philosophy. If they're heading somewhere and you try to stop them, they'll look for3__________way. They'll climb over, they'll climb under, and they'll climb around. They never quit looking for a way to get where they4__________ (suppose) to go.

Second, ants think winter all summer. That's an important viewpoint. You can't be so naive ( 天真的) as to think summer will last forever. So ants are gathering in their winter food in the middle of summer and make5___________(prepare) for the long cold winter. You’ve got to think storms when it’s fine. You've got to think rocks as you enjoy the sand and sun. Think ahead.

The third part of the ant philosophy is that ants think summer all winter. That is so important. During the winter, ants remind6_____________, "This won't last long. We'll soon be out of here." And on the first warm day, the ants are out.7___________ it turns cold again, they'll dive back down, but then they come out on the first warm day. They can't wait to get out.

And here's the last part of the ant philosophy. How much will8____________ ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter? All he9_____________ (possible) can. What an incredible philosophy! 【10__________you can learn from the ant philosophy is: Never give up, look ahead, stay positive and do all you can.

【1】but

【2】amazing

【3】another

【4】are supposed

【5】preparations

【6】themselves

【7】If

【8】an

【9】possibly

【10】What

Simple(簡單的)和powerful(強大的)兩個詞的意義相反,因此這里應(yīng)該是表達轉(zhuǎn)折。故填but。

故填another。

they是 where從句的主語,且be supposed to應(yīng)該做某事,是固定搭配。故填are supposed。

make preparations for sth為..

it turns cold again, they'll dive back down是兩個句子不可能用句號直接連接,因此考慮從句,一個句子是一般現(xiàn)在時,一個句子是一般將來時,而if引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句時就要滿足主句用將來時從句用現(xiàn)在時。故填I(lǐng)f。

故填an。

【10】What;考查what引導(dǎo)的主語從句。what做主語。故填what。

The old camera Brownie picked up in a charity shop was a splendid find. But the undeveloped film still inside turned out to be even more of a treasure.

New owner Don Roccoforte had it developed and saw in it an attractive dark haired woman in her thirties with two young boys. He immediately determined to try to find out who they were.

A few weeks later the California-based camera collector received the news that left him stunned . The woman was his wife Jaqueline’s aunt in a picture taken around 50 years ago, and one of the boys, her cousin.

How to show respect to your co-workers

If you want to reduce the stress in your work environment, one of the best things you can do is to respect your co-workers. Showing respect will earn you respect. 【1】 Respect is the first building block for the success of a relationship.

Use your manners. Greet your co-workers as you enter and exit your work place. Always use “please”, ”thank you” and “pardon me “.If you do ,all of your requests will be seen as just that, and not orders. 2 It means everything from covering your mouth when you sneeze or yarn ,to holding a door open or an elevator open when you see a co-worker coming.

Make a pleasant small talk, but don’t go too far with this concept. You don’t have to talk for hours or know everything about your co-workers .Generally, people feel more comfortable in working environments where they know each other.

Lend a helping hand. This doesn’t mean that you have to be a martyr(受苦者). Don’t always take the “that’s not my job.” attitude. If you are having a particularly light day ,or you see one of your co-workers drowning in work, offer to help. 3 It will probably make you feel good too.

Apologize if you are wrong and be humble. No one likes a show off. You can talk about the good characteristics, traits, and relationships in your life without making people feel like you are better than them. 4 Co-workers will take notice.

5】/span> Being positive not only lifts your spirits, but also lifts the spirits of those around you .No one wants to be around someone who is constantly negative or always complaining.

A. Manners can be actions as well.

B. Speak encouraging words to others.

C. Actually some co-workers don’t need our respect.

D. Your co-workers will appreciate your generous efforts.

E. Avoid standing , sitting or talking too close to someone.

F. It also allows you to get to know and befriend your co-workers.

G. No one is perfect, but what makes up your character is how you handle your mistakes.
