【題目】Superfast doubledecker (雙層) trains will be taking passengers from London to six big cities in the UK by 2033. The first phase (階段) linking London to the West Midlands with a connection to HS1 is expected to open in 2026, and the second phase to Manchester and Leeds in 2032.

The government set out a plan for the highspeed rail network in 2012. When the project is finished, it will take less time to get to London from major cities like Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. Traveling at a speed of up to 250 mph, passengers will be able to come and go from Birmingham to London in 49 minutes, reducing the journey time by almost half from one hour and 24 minutes.

A journey from Birmingham to Leeds will be reduced from two hours to 57 minutes and a journey from Manchester to London will be reduced from two hours and 8 minutes to one hour and 8 minutes.

“HS2 is an important part of transport's lowcarbon future,” Transport Secretary Justine Greening said. Some people aren't happy about the plan, though. HS2 will cost around £33 billion. It will also be built near some towns and villages, disturbing the people that live there.

But the Chancellor of the Exchequer (財(cái)政大臣) George Osborne thinks it will help build the future for Britain. “It's a longterm decision,” he said.

HS2 is designed for everything around the needs of the passengers. It will provide a new and exciting travel experience. There will be plenty of room, intelligent ticketing, a good service and high quality comfort and access to trains. This is a transport network for the new century and beyond.

Traveling at a speed of up to 250 mph, passengers will be able to come and go from Birmingham to London in 49 minutes, reducing the journey time by almost half from one hour and 24 minutes.

Some people aren't happy about the plan可知“并非所有英國(guó)人都對(duì)這項(xiàng)計(jì)劃感到高興,故B項(xiàng)可以推斷出來;根據(jù)第五段中it will help build the future for Britain可推出,C項(xiàng)正確;根據(jù)第四段中HS2 will cost around £33 billion可知,這僅是該計(jì)劃第二個(gè)階段的費(fèi)用,而該計(jì)劃共有兩個(gè)階段,所以可得出£33 billion對(duì)整個(gè)計(jì)劃來說是不夠的。故此題選A。

【4】D 推理判斷題。文章主要向讀者說明了英國(guó)政府建造高鐵的計(jì)劃,這是一則新聞,故這篇文章最有可能在報(bào)紙上看到。故選D。

【題目】Doctors say anger can be an extremely damaging emotion, unless you learn how to deal with it. They warn that anger can lead to heart disease, stomach problems, headaches, emotional problems and possibly cancer.

__【1】__ Some people express anger openly in a calm reasonable way. Others burst with anger, and scream and yell. But other people keep their anger inside. They can not or will not express it. This is called repressing anger.

For years many doctors thought that repressing anger was more dangerous to a persons health than expressing it. They said that when a person is angry, the brain releases the same hormones (荷爾蒙). They speed the heart rate, raise blood pressure, or sugar into the blood, etc. __2___

Some doctors say that both repressing and expressing anger can be dangerous. They believe that those who express anger violently may be more likely to develop heart disease, and they believe that those who keep anger inside may face a greater danger of high blood pressure.

__3__ They say the first step is to admit that you are angry and to recognize the real cause of the anger, then decide if the cause is serious enough to get angry about. If it is, they say, __4___ Wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself calmly and reasonably.

Doctors say that a good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. ___5__

A. In general the person feels excited and ready to act.

B. They said that laughter is much healthier than anger.

C. Expressing anger violently is more harmful than repressing it.

D. Anger may cause you a cancer.

E. Do not express your anger while angry.
