6.The high-protein,low-carbohydrate(碳水化合物) diets many people turn to for weight loss might have potentially harmful long-term effects on the  colon,a small study indicates.
In the study,UK researchers found that a protein-heavy,low-carb diet created certain changes in the colon that could contribute to colon cancer risk.The study itself does not show whether high-protein diets really raise the risk of any colon diseases,but the findings raise that possibility.
Diets relatively high in protein and lower in carbs have been shown to help heavy people lose weight."People should not be discouraged from losing weight,"Dr Flint said.However,he added,they should make sure that any weight loss plan includes adequate amounts of fiber and a high protein intake over months to years might have ill effects on the colon.
The findings are based on 17overweight men who followed three short-term diets:a one-week menu plan to keep their weight; a four-week high-protein diet with reasonable amounts of carbohydrates; and a four-week high-protein diet low in carbs.
On average,the study found when the men were on the high-protein diets,they had higher levels of substances known as N-nitroso compounds(亞硝基化合物) and other metabolites(代謝物) that have been linked to cancer.And when they were on the high-protein,low-carb diet,they had lowered amounts of fiber-originated compounds thought to be protective against cancer.
Exactly what those changes might mean for a person's health is not clear,But Flint said that the findings suggest that people should be cautious about consuming too much protein and too little fiber over a long period.In general,experts recommend that adults get about 28grams of fiber per day-though it's not known whether that's enough for someone on a high-protein weight-loss diet.

5.Drug  Problems
If you're worried about your own or someone else's drug taking or misuse,it's good to know the facts.
Why take drugs?
Drug users don't start using drugs with the intention of becoming addicted.But many drugs contain addictive substances and even people who use them occasionally can become dependent and need to use them regularly.
Reasons why people start using drugs can include:to escape problems they may be having in other parts of their life, peer pressure and fitting in with another group of people, being curious about the effects of drugs.
If you start to use drugs on a regular basis,or if you become dependent on them,it can affect your family and friends as well as having a serious impact on your own physical and mental well-being.
Drug overdoses can be fatal.You can die instantly from misusing substances and drugs that you can buy over the counters.
Signs of drug abuse and misuse
There is not a common list of symptoms that you can use to tell if you or someone you know is misusing drugs.That's because drug use affects different people in different ways,depending on the type of drugs they're using.
Although anxiety, tiredness and a change in sleeping habits can be signs of drug use, they can also be caused by changes in your body, stress or other problems.
Drugs are categorized into three classes based on their overall level of harm.Class A drugs are the most dangerous,however,all the drugs in all three classes are harmful and addictive.
Remember that all drugs are illegal,even Class C drugs like cannabis(大麻煙).If you're caught selling them to other people,or carrying a small amount in your pocket,it's likely that the police will get involved.
If you're found guilty of any of these offences, you may face a fine or time in custody(拘留),with Class A drugs carrying the most severe sentences.
Worried about a friend?
If you think that one of your friends or relatives is misusing drugs,you may want to approach them and talk about it.It's not your responsibility to make them stop,but you can tell them about how their behavior is affecting your relationship.
If they ask for help with their problem, then it's important to listen and help them find the right information and treatment.
National Drugs Helpline
If you're worried about drug abuse and addiction you can call the National Drugs Helpline on 0800 776 600for confidential advice---lines are open seven days a week.Calls are free and they won't show up on your phone bill,but you may be charged if you use a mobile.

2.When the Internet powerhouse Yahoo wanted to teach ethics(道德標(biāo)準(zhǔn)) to its employees,it faced a challenge familiar to multinational companies.
Yahoo employs nearly 14,000people at 25sites worldwide.They would feel bored at sitting down in front of a dated video in which actors with 1980s haircuts tell them what to do.So it hired a company called The Network to design a game.In the game,the truck where Yahoo was founded traveled the world,turning into a boat and a helicopter along the way as it visited some of Yahoo's foreign offices.Participants play in game show-like scenarios(場景) that quiz them about conflicts of interest and doing business fairly.And employees note:Yahoo is tracking how well they do.
Such activities draw more enthusiastic participation and teach more effectively than traditional methods.They are described as alternative-reality games (ARGs),involving both interactive and real-world elements.Besides teaching employees,ARGs have also been used in many areas for a number of different purposes.
From a marketing perspective,a number of very successful ARGs have been written as a way to build product awareness.A very popular ARG called I Love Bees was produced to market the 2004video game Halo 2.At its height,I Love Bees received between two to three million unique visitors over the course of three months.
ARGs are more than just a fun way to learn.They have also been used to solve real world problems.An ARG called World Without Oil was created to obtain collective input from players about dealing with the world's dependency on oil.World without Oil simulates(模擬) the first 32days of a global oil crisis and anybody could play by creating a personal story that recorded the imagined reality of their life in the crisis.World Without Oil's success on a small budget has opened the door for similar games to engage mainstream Internet users with climate change,education reform,governmental policy and other timely,vital issues.
(Note:Answer the questions or complete the statements in NO MORE THAN TEN WORDS.)

81.What challenge did yahoo face in teaching ethics to its employees?(How to)draw more enthusiastic participation and teach more effectively.
82.In the game designed for yahoo,participants had to answer questions aboutconflicts of interest and doing business fairly.
83.What are the three major functions of ARG mentioned in the passage?Teaching employees, building product awareness and solving real world problems
84.The success of World Without Oil suggests that ARGs canengage main stream Internet users with more timely, vital issues.
